JFE Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd was awarded for major Environmental Project in Kuching
 
Currently a world leading Incinerator specialist, with aspiration to expand and increase its technology to South East Asia, JFE Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd succeeded in securing a turnkey contract of the hazardous waste incineration plant for Sarawak Wastes Management Sdn Bhd.
The contract was formally signed on November 24, 2012 between the Client Sarawak Wastes Management Sdn Bhd and JFE Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd – Tsukishima Engineering Malaysia Sdn Bhd Consortium.

The incineration plant functions to not only incinerate hazardous waste but also have controlled emissions system, resulting in a significant less of harmful bi-products and air pollutants produced.
Capacity of the incineration is 60 tons of scheduled waste a day, which is in line with the research data on present and anticipated generation of industrial hazardous waste in Sarawak state.
The incineration plant will be equipped with dual fuel burner system capable of utilizing either diesel or landfill gas or both as auxiliaries during incineration process, and will begin its operation within 2014.

As Sarawak is becoming more industrialized, the state is facing a corresponding escalation of waste production;  in particular, a surge in the generation of industrial hazardous waste.
This project is a major step forward to deliver a sustainable solution to Sarawak’s scheduled waste needs, besides creating job opportunities for local people, suppliers and businesses.

JFE Engineering Corporation has delivered more than 160 Waste-to-Energy plants all over the world.
JFE Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, affiliated company of JFE Engineering Corporation, has delivered waste incineration plant for Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in 2001, for GS Paper & Packaging Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Genting Sanyen Industrial Paper Sdn Bhd) in 2003, and this plant is the third project in Malaysia.

JFE’s ability to acquire comprehensive data on present and anticipated waste situations, besides technical expertise and knowledge of local policy frameworks has enabled JFE to develop environmentally sound technologies specific to the needs of each client.
