JFE Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd.(JFEM) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on the 5th of July 2023 with the owner, Kayaku Safety Systems Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.(KMY) for the construction of new production plants in Sendayan Techvalley, Negeri Sembilan. The new production facilities will comprise of 2 buildings ie V206 plant with built up area of 1,400m2 and V207 plant with built up area of 5,000m2.

KMY is one of subsidiary companies of Nippon Kayaku Co, Ltd. in Japan which was founded in 1916. The plants in Sendayan Techvalley, Negeri Sembilan mainly focus on manufacturing micro gas generator, inflator and squib which are used in automobiles.

JFEM will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services and apply the use of industrial building system (IBS) for execution and completion of the project at short duration. The V206 plant is expected to be handed over on January 2024, subsequently the V207 plant is expected to be handed over on March 2024.
